Technical Writer - I / II

Job Description:

• Develop and maintain clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create software product manuals, installation guides, release notes, SOPs, FAQs, and process documents.
• Strong grammar, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and understand complex information.
• Revise and update existing documents based on product updates and stakeholder feedback.
• Ensure consistency of terminology, formatting, and documentation standards across all materials.
• Use authoring tools and templates to prepare professional-grade documents and visuals.
• Participate in peer reviews and document control processes to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Work closely with Product, Cybersecurity, and Engineering teams to validate content.
• Apply Microsoft Manual of Style writing standards
• Take ownership of end-to-end release of technical documents and entire translation workflows

Qualification/s: 

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field

Essential Skill set/s:

• Experience in writing software user manuals, maintenance instructions, troubleshooting, training materials, standard operating procedures, Quality documents, etc.
• Proficiency in documentation tools such as MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign
• Familiarity with markup languages (HTML/XML) and content management systems.
• Knowledge in single sourcing and multi-channel outputs
• Expertise in Document Development Life Cycle models
• Experienced in using Content Management Systems
• Familiar with Product Life Cycle management tools such as JIRA.
• Flexible and proactive, with the ability to work in an environment of constant change.
• Must be able to collaborate with software engineers, fellow writers, project managers etc.
• Strong communication skills and excellent English writing abilities.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Desirable Skill set/s:

• Exposure to rebranding, illustrations, and image editing
• Familiar in topic-based writing and DITA
