The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Regulation limits the use of hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). This regulation, managed by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), has been in effect since January 1, 2020.

UAE RoHS is a regulation limiting the use of hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment.
It covers all Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) reliant on electric currents or electromagnetic fields for proper functioning, with voltage ratings not exceeding 1000 volts for AC and 1500 volts for DC.
The same ten hazardous materials restricted by the EU RoHS directive.
Categories include large and small household appliances, IT and telecommunication equipment, consumer equipment, lighting equipment, electrical tools, toys, medical devices, monitoring instruments, automatic dispensers, and other EEE.
Categories like military/security equipment, outer space equipment, large-scale tools, and others.
Through risk assessment and declaration of conformity or by obtaining the EmiratesQuality Mark (EQM).
All suppliers, including manufacturers, importers, agents, collectors, and distributors.
Penalties include prohibition of entry, mandatory recall, imprisonment, and fines up to 30,000 AED.
EQM is a mark of conformity granted by ESMA to products meeting UAE National Standards or relevant international standards.
Apply through the Ministry’s digital platform, submit the required documents, and pay the fees.

ECAS certifies that regulated products meet UAE quality and safety standards.
